Humana Foundation

Description

The Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the giant health insurer, supports organizations in communities where the Company has facilities specifically in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. Funding priorities include serving the needs of children, families, and seniors in their quest to build healthier lives and communities. Special consideration is given to projects that focus on health and fitness efforts leading to better lifestyles; literacy activities leading to improved health experiences; and the development of technology, tools, and resources that lead to healthy communities. Proposals from Louisville, Ky., are accepted between November 1 and January 15 of the following year. Proposals from organizations located in other communities are accepted from Nov. 1 through June 15. Additional information, including specific Humana communities, can be found on the Web site. Applications from outside of the Louisville area should be submitted to the respective market office of Humana.
