Description

The philanthropic arm of the food store, the Foundation helps provide funding, product donations, and volunteer time in communities nationwide. Funding is targeted at programs in hunger relief, education, workforce development, the fine arts, and social services. Of particular interest are programs that address local community needs, are measurable, and are serving communities where SUPERVALU or one of their companies has a strong presence. Giving decisions are made at two levels in the company. For local or regional funding, contact the management at the grocery store or distribution facility in the community. The Foundation manages giving at the corporate level and focuses on giving in the state of Minnesota where its headquarters are. The Foundation and the Foundation Contribution Committee reviews and approves all grant proposals above $5000. SUPERVALU includes the following stores: ACME, Albertson’s, bigg, Bristol Farms, Cub Foods, FarmFresh Food and Pharmacy, Hornbacher’s, and Jewel. The names, addresses, and phone numbers of SUPERVALU’s main facilities are listed on the Web site.
