DescriptionThe retail Corporation supports organizations focused on women, children, and education. Funded projects promote the healthy development of future leaders and provide educational opportunities that enable corporate associates to set positive examples through hands-on, interactive, one-on-one experiences. Grants for women focus on improving women’s healthcare through research and education; promoting women’s empowerment through personal and professional development facilitating the transition from poverty to self-sufficiency; and striving to end violence against women. Grants for children focus on improving and promoting their health and safety; working to prevent child abuse and neglect; and supporting mentoring opportunities that build self-esteem, life skills, and positive values. Education grants improve school readiness; help children learn to read at grade level; and encourage community and parental involvement. The Corporation will also fund “talent” in higher education and the arts in Columbus, Ohio. Foundation giving is directed only to organizations that serve areas where the Corporation’s home offices are located: Columbus, Ohio; New York City; Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Kettering, Ohio.
