Sarah K. De Coizart Article Tenth Perpetual Charitable Trust
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Trust focuses its grantmaking exclusively on two areas: blindness-related services and research and the environment. Grants in the areas of blindness and vision impairments may be given for a broad range of services and research. Service-related grants may include expanding existing services, implementation of new efforts, and improvements of infrastructure to facilitate services. Priority is given to programs that serve the New York metropolitan area. Research grants will primarily be considered through disease associations or other intermediaries with scientific advisory committees guiding re-granting programs. Preference is given to efforts that support emerging research talent, innovative treatment, or early detection studies. Environmental grants focus on research, education, and conservation, including efforts to help protect important animal habitats or otherwise fragile areas or to improve land use policies in areas with rapid growth. Priority is given to projects focused on the Tri-state area and New England.
