DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of ADC Telecommunications Inc. Its goal is to provide social and economic value by encouraging employee contributions and by making direct grants in two strategic focus areas: science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, and nonprofit access to technology. Education grants are earmarked for K-12 and higher, for projects where the aim is systemic improvements in the teaching or learning of math and science. Grants will also support enhancements to the “pipeline” preparing students for work in technology-oriented industries. Technology grants support projects that use technology tools to improve service delivery and enhance sector capacity in the nonprofit arena. The Foundation does not consider requests for in-kind giving, general operating grants, capital grants, or fund-raisers. Grants are awarded for organizations in the Twin Cities metro area; Marietta, Ga.; Santa Teresa, N.M.; Sidney, Neb.; Bangalore, India; Delicias and Juarez, Mexico; and Cheltenham, U.K.
