Description

The Foundation’s Accessible Faith Grant program funds Chicago-area houses of worship for accessibility improvements to their facilities. Such improvements should allow increased participation of elderly persons and those with disabilities whether attending programs, services, or activities of the facilities. To be eligible, the facility and the congregation must be a registered nonprofit, be located within Cook, Lake, or DuPage counties in Illinois; provide or host programs and activities beyond worship services that benefit the elderly; and demonstrate financial need to carry out the accessibility project. In addition, they must demonstrate the ability to raise sufficient funds to complete the project if awarded a grant and own the facility where the improvements would be made. Additional information, application forms, and tips are available on the Web site.
