: General

Description

The Foundation attempts to be a catalyst for progressive change in humanitarian concerns. As such, it focuses its grantmaking on projects and programs in education, community, and medicine/health. Under education, the Foundation is interested in programs that target formal K-12 education (particularly mathematics, science, and reading); teacher development; literacy; and higher education. Grants awarded in the community category address human services, community improvement, abuse prevention, and youth development. Medicine/health grants should promote the health and well being of children, access to health services, and Foundation-initiated programs focusing on ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease. All applicants must complete an electronic letter of inquiry from the Web as a first step. The Foundation will only review one letter per 12-month period. There is no deadline for submitting a letter of inquiry; the listed deadline is for proposals.
