DescriptionThe Foundation's California Wildlands Grassroots Fund awards grants in support of grassroots activities working to preserve California's wildlands and natural habitats. The Fund supports issues and activities that include but are not limited to projects that protect and preserve wildlands and open spaces, or support the good stewardship, restoration, and management, or activities such as grassroots organizing and outreach, communications campaigns, regulatory advocacy, lawsuits, wildlands restoration and stewardship (including trail maintenance), scientific research, organizational capacity building, and equipment purchases. Applicants may be a nonprofit, or an individual/organization fiscally sponsored by a nonprofit. Project impact must be within the state of California. Applicants must also have actual expenses and income of $200,000 or less. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
