DescriptionFounded by a British businessman who later became the chairman of Firth Cleveland Ltd., the Foundation awards grants in the social and criminal justice area to prevent people from entering the criminal justice system and to support those already in the system to move on and rebuild their lives. The Foundation awards grants to early intervention programs with young children and their families, tailored preventative work with young people at risk, and holistic support services aimed at reducing re-offending and aiding resettlement. The Foundation also awards grants for United Kingdom-sponsored projects that improve the livelihoods of disadvantaged communities in the Commonwealth countries of Africa.
