DescriptionThe Foundation supports start-up projects in three areas: music, education, and grassroots organizing. Music grants seek to foster the expansion of musical ideas through the support of new projects, which promote original programming and new performers. Education grants are focused on living environments in which learning is a natural activity and a habit, rather than a periodic task. Grassroots grants seek to rectify institutional injustices and to envision and build a reasoned, just society. The Foundation will consider supporting communities working on sustainable energy; Gulf Coast democracy, anti-racism, and economic justice; and secular community development. The Foundation prefers projects that promote diversity. Applicants are asked to call the organization to discuss the proposal before submitting an application. The Foundation will only consider applications discussed with them in advance.
