DescriptionFunded by the Lilly Endowment, the Institute awards grants and fellowships to those who lead and study North American religious institutions and practices, advancing scholarship to strengthen the church, academy, and society, ultimately contributing to the flourishing of the church. The Institute's Pastoral Study Project Program supports individual or collaborative study projects on Christian life; religious practices and institutions; and possibilities and ideas for the church, its communities, and the wider world. Grants are awarded to skilled and innovative clergy lay leaders, and staff working in diverse Christian contexts in the United States and Canada. Eligible candidates have received theological education, training, and/or mentoring to be Christian leaders and work in diverse ministry contexts in the United States and Canada.
