DescriptionNamed for Friedrich Froebel, the inventor of kindergardens and a pioneer of early childhood education and care, the work of the Trust is focused on Early Childhood Education and Care for children from birth to eight years of age. The Trust funds practice development and research into education and learning in the early years of childhood. The Trust offers two types of grants: Seed Corn grants to kickstart new research projects and fund smaller scale projects and Larger grants to fund research-led projects headed up by more established scholars with a research reputation and a track record of delivering high-quality studies, research outputs, and impact. Applicants can work in any discipline, organization or country, but applications must show how the proposed research will promote and advance early childhood education and learning.
