Russell Sage Foundation
Category: Education
DescriptionFunded by the widow of railroad magnate and financier Russell Sage, the Foundation funds social science research that extends the methods, data, and theories of the social sciences as a means of better documenting and understanding the nation's most pressing social, political, and economic problems. The Foundation's Future of Work Grant Program supports innovative research on the causes and consequences of changes in the quality of jobs for low- and moderately-paid workers and their families in the United States. Funded programs should broaden the understanding o the role of changes in employer practices the nature of the labor market, and public policies on employment, earnings, and job quality. Priority will be given to proposals that address questions about the interplay of market and non-market forces in shaping the wellbeing of workers.
