Gloria Barron Prize For Young Heroes

Description

Established in 2001 by author T.A. Barron to honor his mother, the Prize celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds across the United States and Canada. The Prize annually honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive difference to people and the environment. Applicants must have organized and led an extraordinary service activity that has benefited others or the planet we share. The service activity must have been initiated and motivated primarily by the winner and cannot have been done solely to complete an assignment for school or work. Top winners each receive $10,000 for th3eir service work or higher education. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
