Description

The Foundation aims to inspire and empower people with spinal cord injuries to lead active and engaged lives. Through its Active Fund, the Foundation awards grants for individuals with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury to purchase adaptive sports equipment that enables the applicant to be active. First-hand experience using the desired equipment in the environment intended for its use is extremely important to the grant committee. Preference is given to an applicant's equipment choice the provides some fitness benefit. Applicants with spina bifida, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, post-polio, Guillain-Barre, Strohl Syndrome, ALS, and other neuropathies or conditions that might cause disabilities are not eligible for a grant. Additional information including application instructions can be found on the Web site.
