Mockingbird Foundation

: Music

The Foundation is the philanthropic effort of the community of fans of the band Phish. The Foundation provides grants to schools and nonprofits in the United States that focus on music education for children. The Foundation is particularly interested in projects that foster creative expression in all musical forms, and encourages applications associated with diverse musical styles, genres, forms, and philosophies. Music education can include the provision of instruments, equipment, texts, and office materials, as well as the support of learning space, performance space, and instructions. Grants target programs for children up to 18 years of age, but the Foundation will consider programs that benefit college students, teachers, or adult students. Priority is given to programs that benefit disenfranchised groups, including those with low skill levels, income, or education; those with disabilities or terminal illnesses; and those in foster homes, hospitals, prisons, or other remote or isolated situations. Additional information including application instructions can be found on the Web site.
