DescriptionThrough its grantmaking, the Foundation seeks to improve the standard of care for breast disease patients. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on research projects and projects related to patient breast care and patient education. Grants are awarded in three areas: Education, Community Outreach, and Research. The Foundation's Humanism in Medicine Award recognizes an American Society of Breast Surgery member physician in the U.S. or Canada for their compassion and empathy in the delivery of patient care, cultural sensitivity, and competence in scientific endeavors.
