Description

The Foundation was founded in 2000 with the goal of making Colorado a more compassionate and just place for all who live there. The Foundation awards grants in three areas: Social Justice (Statewide); Media Grantmaking, and Direct Services (Boulder County). Social Justice grants are awarded to organizations throughout the state of Colorado that are working to address the root causes of social, economic, gender, and racial inequities through strategies that empower affected communities to engage in the democratic process and advance progressive policy solutions. Media Grantmaking grants focus on nonprofits throughout Colorado that are promoting public interest journalism, news literacy, and engaging communities in civic life. Direct services grants fund Boulder County nonprofits that provide direct services and support to traditionally marginalized youth and families. The Foundation generally doesn't support grants to individuals, programs outside of Colorado, religious organizations, large public charities, or individual public or private schools (K-12, graduate, post-graduate). Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions. The deadline is for Social Justice grants.
