Righteous Persons Foundation
DescriptionFounded by Stephen Spielberg and his wife, Kate Capshaw from the profits of the movie, Schindler's List and supported with profits from both Spielberg's Munich and Lincoln movies, the Foundation is dedicated to supporting efforts that build a vibrant Jewish community in the United States. The Foundation has a particular focus on supporting organizations that are national in scope. Grants are awarded to programs and project that 1) contribute to a fuller, more expansive Jewish Story by shining a light on the vibrancy, complexity, and diversity of Jewish life and the meaning it holds; 2) express the Jewish value of human dignity, by building relationships across religious divides to reduce antisemitism and racialized hate; and 3) strengthen faith-rooted moral leadership and advance social justice.
