Description

The Foundation was founded by South African-born David Issroff, principal of City Hall Capital LLC, a New York City-based investment firm. The Foundation seeks to partner with implementing organizations and their funding entities to improve outcomes for children and youth and the communities in which they reside, primarily Southern and East Africa. With a focus on uplifting the lives of children and youth to reach their full potential, the Foundation supports leaders to develop their organizations in order to increase access to education and other services, encourage entrepreneurship, and foster opportunity. In addition to direct capacity-building support and funding, the Foundation is deeply invested in helping to build organizational structures and creating community and networks. Grants are awarded in three programs: Collaborative Learning Initiative, WeareWISE, and Board Training. The Collaborative Learning Initiative, a one-year intensive program that convenes a cohort of innovative, talented, and proximate founders or leaders of organizations, provides the virtual and emotional space and time for leaders to bond, collaborate, and learn the tools to have the impact they desire. WeareWISE supports a community of dynamic professional women working in the social sector to amplify their personal and professional development networks. Board Training helps participants hone in on a particular skill sets, passions, and value add and to identify how those can best be optimized on a board. In addition to international grants, the Foundation also awards grants in New York City. Visit the Web site to learn more about the Foundation and for application instructions.
