DescriptionThe Trust encourages preservation at the local level by providing seed money for preservation projects. The Trust's Johanna Favrot Fund for Historic Preservation Grant aims to save historic environments to foster an appreciation of our nation's diverse cultural heritage and to preserve and revitalize the livability of the nation's communities. The selection committee will place particular importance on the likelihood that the requested assistance will contribute to the preservation or recapture of an authentic sense of place. Ineligible activities include academic research and historic resource surveys to create inventories or to list resources in the National Register. Public agencies and nonprofits are eligible. Applicants must be capable of matching the grant amount dollar-for-dollar. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
