Teammates For Kids Foundation

Category

: Children, Youth & Families

Description

Co-founded in 1999 by country western singer Garth Brooks, the Foundation accepts proposals from organizations that specialize in working with children. Funding interests include health, education, and inner-city services for needy children. Health grants fund programs that emphasize prevention and/or recovery from health problems; those that promote healthy lifestyles; and programs that provide access to medicine or medical procedures for those who would otherwise be denied them. Education grants encourage educational achievement in weak areas; promote advanced learning opportunities for gifted children; and expose children to learning opportunities that would be denied them due to funding. Inner city services grants award funds for health and education programs targeted toward low-income children in the inner city; and those that strengthen the capacity of organizations to meet the needs of low-income, inner city children. The Foundation only accepts applications between December 1,2006 and February 1, 2007.
