Arrell Global Food Institute Innovation Awards

Category

: International

Description

The Institute, housed at Canada's University of Guelph, recognizes global leaders who are ensuring future food security for the planet and hopes to inspire new leaders to take bold steps toward change. Scientific excellence and community engagement are necessary to overcome the challenges that our world will face in feeding 9 billion people and beyond. The Awards recognize global excellence in food innovation and community impact. Awards have been given in two areas: Research Impact and Community Impact. Research Impact awards will be given to one researcher or a group of researchers who have advanced understanding of food production, processing, distribution, consumption, safety, and/or human nutrition, with a significant benefit to food systems or wider society. Community Impact awards will recognize an individual or a group of individuals who have contributed to improved nutritional health and/or food security, with a focus on strengthening disadvantaged communities. Each of the two prizes will be worth $125,000 CAD. Visit the Web site for more on the awards' history and application instructions.
