Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the environmental testing Company. It seeks to foster community-based conservation of landscapes and seascapes and the bio-cultural diversity found in these places. The Foundation welcomes applications from community-based nonprofits working toward conserving biological diversity, sustaining cultural diversity, maintaining ecosystem services, supporting food sovereignty and economic vitality, and in the marine environment, sustain healthy reefs and fisheries. The Foundation prefers to support projects in settings where the small grants can make a big impact. Because they are a small Foundation, they must limit the grants to specific countries and are unable to consider requests from areas outside of their geographic focus. Grants are awarded in the following countries: Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua in Central America; Sacred Valley of the Incas in the Southern Andes of Peru, Bolivia, and the Andes-Amazon Basin of Ecuador and Peru; Ghana and Cameroon in West Africa. The Foundation also funds a limited number of local projects in coastal communities along the North Shore of Massachusetts. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
