Description

The Foundation was founded by William Kahlert, the co-founder of Evapco, Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of evaporative cooling products. The Foundation provides grants to nonprofits to improve the quality of life and well-being of the community in the areas of health care, youth programs, education, veteran organizations and human services. It focuses its grantmaking in Maryland and Utah as well as some awards in Northern Virginia, Southern Pennsylvania, and Washington DC. Funds are awarded for programs and projects that improve organizations' capacity to make a positive impact on the local communities and their citizens. Potential applicants need to demonstrate good leadership and financial stability and have a minimum history of two years of existence.
