DescriptionThe Foundation supports and encourages innovative programs designed to enhance the quality of education at the pre-collegiate level. Grants are awarded to organizations that use innovative practices in K-12 education across the United States. Preference is given to curricular and school reform initiatives and/or those focused on the preparation of and professional development opportunities for teachers, particularly those that encourage people of high ability and diverse background to enter and remain in K-12 teaching. The Foundation also provides modest support of activities in Marion, Massachusetts, where it is headquartered, and the surrounding communities.
