National Schools Of Character Awards

Description

Each year, the Character Education Partnership recognizes 10 public and private K-12 schools and districts as National Schools of Character for their outstanding work in character education. Applicants must have been engaged in character education for a minimum of three full years, starting no later than December 2003 for the December 2007 awards. Districts must have been engaged in character education for a minimum of four full years, starting no later than December 2002. Schools must have a minimum of 175 students to apply. Smaller administrative units, such as a school pyramid or cluster, which maintain a separate identity within a large district, may apply in the district category. Winners will receive $20,000; $10,000 to enhance their program and $10,000 to provide outreach to other educators. Applicants are asked to provide four copies of the completed application.
