DescriptionThe Organization is the only funder of its kind in the United Kingdom. As the first seed funder for the charity sector in the United Kingdom, the Organization believes that any charitable organization with the talent and drive to create social change should be able to access the funds it needs to fulfill its potential. Its grantmaking philosophy is one of "venture philanthropy." Priority is given to small organizations working with marginalized groups and led by people in the community that may have found it hard to access trust and foundation funding in the past. The Organization's goal is to level the playing field and give no advantage to those with fundraising experience or connections. The Organization identifies and invests in nonprofits with the strongest management and for whom support will transform future growth, sustainability, or impact.
