DescriptionThe Foundation supports work in the State of Maine to improve the well-being of people, animals, and the environment while fostering relationships that strive for social equity and community resilience. Animal Welfare grants are awarded to organizations working to bud the sector?s capacity and to address the common issue of unwanted cats facing communities and animal shelters throughout Maine. Legacy grants support a limited number of organizations with whom the founder, Elmina Sewall, had personal relationships with. Rapid Response grants address needs surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline date is for all but the Healthy People/Healthy Places grants. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
