DescriptionThe Society represents research scientists and engineers and rewards excellence in research and cooperation among scientists in all fields. The Society provides undergraduates and graduate student with valuable educational experiences and financial support since 1922. The Society?s Grants-in-Aid of Research Program awards grants of up to $1,000 to undergraduate and graduate students in most areas of science and engineering. Designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences allow for grant of up to $5,000 for astronomy research and $2,500 for vision-related research. While membership in the Society is not required to apply for a grant, applicants are strongly encouraged to consider becoming a member prior to the grant application deadline.
