DescriptionThe Foundation's Equity Fund seeks to strengthen lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer organizations in Maine and support community-based initiatives. The Fund supports all aspects of the LGBTQ+ community. It will consider projects and organizations that increase access to health care or reduce health disparities; reduce race-based disparities or barriers to opportunities; reduce violence and/or harassment; promote respect and understanding; and involve people who identify as LGBTQ+ in leadership positions on the board and staff of the organization, involved in the design, delivery, and evaluation of the programs and services, and are most of the participants or intended recipients. The Fund awards three types of grants: general support, project, and capacity-building. Additional information including application instructions can be found on the Web site.
