The Foundation, named for the legendary performer Doris Day, has, as its mission, helping animals and the people who love them. The Foundation funds nonprofits that need assistance in their work of directly rescuing, caring for, and protecting animals as well as programs such as senior pet assistance, spay/neuter activities, pet food pantries, and emergency disaster relief. Priority is given to programs that assist senior companion animals and their food, care, veterinary costs, or need for adoption.
