DescriptionThe Trust supports Scottish-based community groups and small charities in the following categories: sport, recreational facilities, animal welfare, health, and culture. Sport grants encourage and increase public participation in sport. Recreational facilities grants seek to improve the conditions of life for the people for whom the facilities are primarily intended. Animal welfare grants seek to improve the advancement of animal welfare. Health grants seek the advancement of health, including the prevention or relief of sickness, disease, or human suffering. Culture grants support the heritage - tangible or otherwise - of Scotland, through projects that encourage participation in and preservation of Scotland's distinctive culture. The Trust will not fund individuals, social enterprises, capital projects greater than 100,000 pounds, governing bodies or commercial ventures including business start-ups.
