DescriptionThe Foundation works to advance the health of animals by funding hypothesis-driven, humane animal research projects with scientific merit and the potential for significant impact on animal health. The Foundation's Large Animal Proposal Program funds established investigators, new faculty, and fellowships who study how to improve the lives of animals around the world. The Foundation defines large animals to include equine, llama, and alpacas. It does not fund health studies for agricultural animals such as cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, or chickens.
