Description

The Organization provides transformative learning experiences for K-12 students, empowering them to develop in-demand, transportable skills through exploring real world challenges. The Organization is a series of modules, units, or courses available for elementary, middle, and high schools. Its comprehensive programs also include in-depth professional development for teachers, live classroom support, and more. It offers comprehensive pathways for K-12 students in computer science, biomedical engineering, and engineering. Funded by a variety of corporate partners, the Organization’s Initiatives support rural teachers in their efforts to inspire future scientists by funding various technology programs. The Initiative also seeks to elevate the college and/or career prospects of rural students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and to improve communities. To be eligible, schools must offer at least one Project Lead the Way computer science course. Eligible schools must be located in areas that are characterized as Town, Fringe; Town, Distant; Town, Remote; Rural, Fringe; Rural, Distant; or Rural, Remote as defined by the National Center for Education Statistics.
