Rockfall Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation continues the tradition of its founder, Colonel Clarence S. Wadsworth. Grants are awarded annually in the Foundation’s competitive Environmental Grant Program. The Program seeks to preserve and enhance the environment in the Lower Connecticut River Valley and to increase public knowledge of and respect for its natural resources. The Foundation also has a relatively new program, Fostering Future Environmental Stewards. The Stewards Program awards funds to schools for pre-K-8 environmental education programs. Grants in this program are intended to support continuous environmental literacy programs for children that offer nature discovery and real world, hands-on, place-based learning. Both grant programs must benefit at least one of the towns in the Lower Connecticut River Valley, which includes Middlesex County as well as Lyme and Old Lyme. Visit the Web site for more information.
