D’oyly Carte Charitable Trust

Description

The Trust, named after Dame Bridget D’Oyly Carte, supports theater, music, gardening, and helping disadvantaged and disabled children. Grants are awarded in the following categories: the arts, medical welfare, and environment. Art grants promote access, education, and excellence in the arts for young people, the elderly, youth on the margins of society to improve their employability, and performance development opportunities in the performing arts for those in the early stages of their careers. Medical welfare grants support the provision of music and art therapy; charities concerned with alleviating the suffering of adults and children; the welfare of caregivers, and charities that seek to engage with young people on the fringes of society. Environment grants support programs and projects that conserve rural crafts and skills, social and therapeutic horticulture, species protection, heritage conservation, and the conservation of the countryside and woodlands. Applicants must be registered charities in the United Kingdom. Additional information including an application form can be found on the Web site.
