Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Casino. The Foundation seeks to empower Illinois communities to ensure that the state is a great place to live and work and where all residents have an opportunity to thrive. The Foundation currently provides grants to nonprofits in Illinois that address one of the following program areas: the Economy Program, the Education Program, the Engagement Program, the Environment Program and the Elgin Program. The Economy Program focuses on making economic opportunities, experiences, and outcomes stronger and more equitable for workers. The Education Program seeks to help students, parents, and educators shape educational policy and practice into experiences resulting in more equitable outcomes. The Engagement Program supports community-informed solutions that work to improve civil discourse, civic participation, community engagement, and create a stronger democracy in Illinois. The Environment Program aims to diversity the range of voices involved in conservation work. The Elgin Program promotes civic engagement toward the improvement of the human services education, and economic systems in Elgin, Ill. The Foundation awards both general operating and project grants. Letters of inquiry may be submitted throughout the year. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
