Appalachian Stewardship Foundation

Category

: Regional

Description

The Foundation was created to help address two specific issues surrounding energy development in Appalachia: greenhouse gases, and stream and fishery restoration. The Greenhouse Gas Reduction grants focus on reducing, sequestering, offsetting, mitigation, and storing of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. Grants in the Stream and Fishery Restoration category focus on the mitigation of damage or pollution to streams and fresh water tributaries. Priority will be given to efforts benefitting Virginia and West Virginia and those that are considered “on the ground” or “in the stream” projects. Pilot projects will also be considered. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
