Description

The Foundation’s grantmaking supports programs, which promote literacy, reading, and writing; improve the health and physical fitness of children; introduce children to, and foster the love of poetry, gardening, music, and other arts; and encourage the development of a child’s dignity and self-worth. The Foundation will also consider funding programs that support children, such as teacher training, as long as the applicant can demonstrate a clear benefit to children. Letters of inquiry with a completed concept letter and cover sheet are requested and must be sent to both addresses. Giving is primarily concentrated in the northeast United States (eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, New Jersey, New York, and New England) with an emphasis on programs in the metropolitan New York City and Boston areas. Additional information is available on the Web site.
