DescriptionThe Endowments envision Pittsburgh as a place where citizens of all ages, races, ethnicities, and identities have opportunities to actively participate in a creative life; where communities and neighborhoods are distinctive, beautiful, and desirable locations to live and visit; and where creativity is recognized as an important characteristic of the region and contributes to its economic well-being. The Foundationís Small Arts Initiative grants seek to further the development of small, professional arts organizations and the artists with whom they work. The Endowments will award grants of up to $20,000 to help Pittsburgh area organizations or collectives of artists/organizations carry out well-defined artistic opportunities or address meaningful challenges. Arts organizations must have an annual budget of now more than $300,000; those with budgets larger than that amount may act as fiscal sponsors. Applicants located in the following southwestern Pennsylvania counties are eligible to apply: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, and Westmoreland. Additional information including an online application form can be found on the Web site.
