Category

: Regional

Description

Administered by the Corporation, the League’s Sea Turtle Grants Program supports research, conservation, and education programs that benefit Florida sea turtles. Conservation grants are awarded for the protection of marine turtles, their nests, and hatchlings from harmful activities on the nesting beach. Grants are also targeted for the care and rehabilitation of sick or injured sea turtles. Education grants support the development, production, and distribution of educational materials and programs that promote the understanding of the biology, health, life history, and habitat needs of Florida’s marine turtles and their protection and conservation. Research grants fund research directly related to the conservation of marine turtles. Florida coastal governments, Florida-based nonprofits, and education and research institutions that actively participate in marine turtle research, conservation, and educational activities within the state of Florida are eligible to apply. Guidelines and applications are available online.
