Description

The Foundation was founded to support organizations and institutions that move the city of Detroit forward. Founded by Joseph L. Hudson, the well-known Detroit retailer – the J.L. Hudson Company – the Foundation invests in the success of community initiatives. Grants are awarded in the following areas: Community and Economic Development, Safe and Just Communities, Built Environment, and Arts and Culture. The Foundation only funds activities that are based in Detroit or otherwise have a significant benefit to the Detroit community. Some additional information including a letter of inquiry form and grantmaking guidelines can be found on the Web site.
