Description

The Foundation’s focuses its grantmaking on these topics: Increasing Opportunities for Minority Youth and Promoting Biodiversity in a Changing Climate. Minority youth grants support minority-led nonprofits with diverse leadership and staff that are working to increase opportunities for minority youth, those ages six to 18. Grants in this category focus on organizations that offer innovative and proven ways to develop children’s skills in education, creative and cultural expression, and athletics. Promoting Biodiversity grants support conservation efforts that utilize the impacts of climate change when selecting areas for protection and engaging a community of citizens, scientists, and conservationists in educating the public about biodiversity and climate change. Grants are awarded to organizations in communities throughout Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington and range up to $25,000.
