Erich And Hannah Sachs Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation was established by the son of Erich and Hannah to honor his parents, World War II immigrants from Germany. The couple developed deep commitments to tolerance and improving the quality of people’s lives, by creating greater economic and educational opportunities for those less fortunate or less able. The Foundation’s primary commitment is to improving the overall quality of life for economically and/or educationally disadvantaged individuals and families who manifest a genuine desire to help themselves. The Foundation also supports efforts designed to strengthen communities. Priority is given to those charitable organizations and institutions with an established record of increasing economic and educational opportunities in both low-income, inner –city neighborhoods, as well as rural areas. The Foundation has a keen interest in supporting charitable organizations and institutions that have developed clear and effective economic development programs. Those organizations are eligible for low-interest rate loans known as Program Related Investments. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
