Description

The Foundation strives to ensure that all people have the opportunity to develop their potential and provide healthy, productive futures for themselves, their families, and their communities. The Foundation believes that everyone deserves an opportunity to have a fulfilling and productive future; family and community are of utmost importance in life; and giving back to one’s community is a fundamental value. The Foundation awards grants in five program areas: arts and culture, civic and community, education, health and human services, and Jewish culture and traditions. Priority is given to organizations and projects support the underserved, disadvantaged, or those who do not have the resources to provide opportunities for themselves; make a significant difference in people’s lives, assuring them a fulfilling and productive future; promote human rights and understanding among peoples, address racial and religious discrimination and hatred, and foster peace through education; demonstrate a broad base of community support, and/or use collaboration as a means to leverage resources. The Foundation will support new programs, on-going programs, general operations in certain circumstances, and capital improvements. Applicants must be located in or primarily benefiting residents living in Cumberland and/or York counties in Maine or affect people throughout Maine.
