DescriptionThe Foundation is dedicated to the support of education, quality media, and the protection of the environment. National grants address the following program interests: Media, environment, and animal welfare. Media grants support public interest media that raises awareness of critical environmental, political, and social issues to promote a better informed citizenry in the United States. Environmental grants consider efforts that work to ensure that the country’s drinking water is clean, affordable, and accessible and is protected and managed as a public necessity. Animal welfare grants focus on nationally significant programs to ensure the humane treatment of domestic animals and the protection of endangered wildlife and wildlife in captivity. The Foundation also awards regional grants in the areas of higher education, community needs, Sustainable Ithaca, and the special project area of school food and nutrition. Before developing a proposal, prospective grantees should consult program interests to determine the potential for fun ding. Calls or emails to program staff are also welcome to assess fit with program interests. Letters of interest are accepted at any time. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
