Description

The Foundation recognizes the value and importance of the consumer and peer movement in promoting mental health system reform. The Foundation believes that a recovery-oriented system of care must include the consumer as an active stakeholder. The Foundation supports the peer and consumer movement through support for projects that: train and certify peers to become Certified Peer Specialists (by invitation only); expand clubhouses and drop-in centers; and promote positive changes to the behavioral health system especially through consumer-driven efforts and consumer advocacy organizations. Eligible applicants must be nonprofits serving Broward, Miami-Dade, and/or Monroe counties in South Florida. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
