Description

The Foundation works to unleash the potential of women journalists as champions of press freedom and to ensure that women journalists worldwide are fully supported, protected, recognized, and rewarded for their vital contributions at all levels of the news media. The Foundation’s Reporting Grants for Women’s Stories Program, sponsored by the Secular Society, is a new funding initiative supporting journalism produced by and about women. The grants empower journalists to access untold stories through new means of funding that emphasizes gender balanced reporting. Grants provide opportunities for women journalists to pursue international stories of importance through gender-sensitive coverage of underreported topics. Funds may be used to cover reporting-related costs including travel (flights, ground transportation, drivers), logistics, visa fees, and payment for fixers/translators. Additional information including an online application form can be found on the Web site.
