Description

The Trust’s Mini-Grant Program for K-12 Environmental Education supports school-based activities that provide meaningful outdoor learning experiences around a watershed issue. Supported activities can include field trips, fieldwork, student-led action projects, schoolyard habitat projects, and professional development trainings and programs that advance teachers’ environmental literacy. The Program seeks to educate students in Maryland and the District of Columbia about the Chesapeake Bay and their local watersheds, as well as about what students can do to make a difference in watershed health. It also seeks to provide meaningful watershed educational experiences for students and teachers; provide environmental education professional development opportunities for teachers; and support environmental literacy goals within schools, school systems, and other educational institutions. Program guidelines, application instructions, and additional information can be found on the Web site.
